Similar to the recent storm swept through the northwest the night before, Manchester City blew Manchester United aside at the their home ground. It was a convincing 3-0 triumph for Andrée Jeglertz’s side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their championship potential as they reinforced their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Defeats for United

This result represented back-to-back WSL setbacks for Skinner's side for the first time since May 2024, putting them a significant margin off the table toppers with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.
