Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can expect finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
